Native Attachment File Types Supported on Palm OS™

With desktop software, the email application requires other software to open different kinds of attachments. For example, if you receive a Microsoft Word document, you would require Microsoft Word to be installed on your desktop in order to open the attachment.

Handheld devices follow the same principle. In order to open and edit a Microsoft Word document attachment, you need an application that can perform this operation to be installed on your handheld device. Fortunately, applications for most attachment types are standard on the latest Palm OS Smartphone devices.
